Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) conducts an exam for recruitment of eligible candidates to UP Lekhpal Post. Unlike other competitive exams, this is not held every year. It was last conducted in 2015, and hence more vacancies are expected in 2021. Aspirants need to keep an eye on the official website and check for all the eligibility criteria for UP Lekhpal post. Let’s see these criteria in detail in the next sections.
Eligibility Criteria For UP Lekhpal Bharti
Just like various state-level examinations, this exam too allows certain candidates to apply for the vacancies. Only those fulfilling the eligibility criteria can apply for the UP Lekhpal post, so it is important to check all the requirements to avoid rejection of the application.
- Age
The candidate has to be between 18 and 40 years. The birth date of the applicant must be between 2nd July 1980 and 1st July 2002 while applying for the exam. The rules and regulations of the UP Government decide the relaxation for the upper age limit of applicants. For different categories of candidates, the relaxation for the upper age limit is as below:
- 5 years for Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes.
- 5 years for candidates belonging to other backward classes.
- 5 years for the physically handicapped candidates.
- Educational qualification
Those who have completed higher secondary education, intermediary, or equivalent qualification from any recognized university or board, can apply for the post. Those who have served in the Territorial Army for a minimum of 2 years are preferred candidates. Apart from this, those having a National Cadet Corps B certificate have an advantage over others not having it.
Iii. Nationality
The nationality criteria are used to check the origin of candidates. Those of Indian origin can only apply for the UP Lekhpal recruitment, which is a state-level examination.
- Experience
The UP Lekhpal post doesn’t ask for any previous experience; hence freshers with interest in the particular job are also eligible. This criterion might not always be the same, so it is better to go through the official page for updates, if any.
- Previous exam attempts
Some state and national level exams have restrictions on the number of attempts. But in the case of UP Lekhpal, candidates can apply for more than one time. There is no official notification released regarding a restriction on the number of attempts. So anyone fulfilling all the eligibility criteria can attempt as many times as they want. Applicants can attempt the UP Lekhpal mock test series available on BYJU’S Exam Prep to prepare for this exam.
